JOURNEY OF INNOVATION & EXPERTISE

Dave's educational journey led him to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. Initially drawn to a career in community development, circumstances led him to explore opportunities in manufacturing. Starting as an operator, Dave quickly discovered his affinity for the manufacturing environment. He eagerly sought out learning opportunities, which eventually led him to work alongside industrial robotics, further igniting his interest in mechanics and automation. With his mechanical abilities and knowledge continually expanding, Dave transitioned into a maintenance technician role at a different company. However, his desire to gain industry insights from a different perspective, challenge himself, and delve deeper into industrial machinery and automation led him to Felins as a Field Service Engineer.

Dave first heard about Felins through his friend and current Field Service Engineer, Tony Vorpahl. Tony's stories about his experiences and the relationships he developed at Felins made Dave recognize the incredible opportunity that awaited him here. With this firsthand knowledge, he knew that joining Felins was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

As a member of the service team, Dave's day-to-day responsibilities encompass a range of crucial tasks. He ensures that part numbers and machine manuals are confirmed for customers, provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance, repairs machines and components, conducts testing and sign-offs on new machine orders before they are shipped out.

CYCLING, COMEDY, & A COMPANION

Outside of work, Dave embraces his comfortable introverted nature while pursuing a wide array of hobbies and interests. He enjoys watching movies and playing video games, which provide him the perfect opportunity to recharge and unwind. Dave is also an avid cyclist and is currently training for the "Ride Across Wisconsin," a challenging cycling event covering 235 miles across the state in a single day. Additionally, he cherishes quality time spent with friends and his furry companion, Echo, a Shepard/Retriever mix.

ADVANCEMENTS IN AI AND AUTOMATION

When reflecting on where he's at in his career and what he anticipates for the future: "I am most looking forward to the future of automation and AI integration at Felins,” says Dave, “And how Felins will continue to Simplify, Solve and Sustain in this industry."
